This town-centre landmark is an amalgamation of historic buildings dating from the 15th and 18th century, known as The Royal Hop Pole.
We are an English Heritage hotel, and the detail inside reflects this. We have a previously undiscovered medieval hall upstairs, as well as a beautiful fireplace in the adjoining pub.

Tewkesbury itself is an ancient settlement, at the meeting point of the rivers Severn and Avon, providing one of the best medieval townscapes in England today.
The town and surrounding area are steeped in history, with a wealth of historic buildings and attractions to discover, as well as some simply stunning river-valley countryside, making the Cotswolds and Severn Vale one of the best-loved regions.
Local transport
There are regular buses to Cheltenham and Gloucester. The closest train station is Ashchurch station.

Residents’ parking is available at the rear of the hotel (this is camera operated, so please log your registration at reception for complimentary parking if you are staying in the hotel).
There is also a coach park a short walk away.
Directions
Tewkesbury is in Gloucestershire, on the northwestern edge of the Cotswolds, within easy access of junction 9 of the M5 motorway.
Follow the A438 (Ashchurch Road) into Tewkesbury and onto the A38 (Church Street); we are just up the road from the tourist information centre.
Ashchurch train station is the closest station to us, and a 10-minute journey on the 41 bus will drop you right in the town centre.
